Business schools are accredited by a small number of accrediting bodies around the world. These organizations help ensure schools meet established quality standards in areas like teaching, outcomes, facilities, and more. In the US, the primary accreditation is from AACSB – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Although there are 643 accredited institutions around the world, 491 are in the United States. Every state has an AACSB accredited business school and some states have over 30 such schools.
You can see from the chart above that Maryland, New Jersey, and Minnesota have the most AACSB accredited business schools per 1 million residents. Texas is also in the top five and is also among the top three states with the highest actual number of AACSB business schools.
Compiling AACSB data by state shows what states have the most AACSB accredited business schools. This is certainly not a ranking, but tells you there are good quality business school options in every state. You can find more about these quality business schools at the AACSB website.
